Japanese only release recorded live at Yubin Chokin Hall, Tokyo, Japan. This show has subsequently been heavily bootlegged.

It was reissued on laserdisc by Pioneer in 1989 in the "Pick Me Up Music LD Select 100" series.

In 1992 it was reissued again on VHS and LaserDisc by Pack-in-Video..

1986 - Don't Mess with Texas (TV Advertisement)

Don't Mess with Texas - Format: TV Advert Video; Label: n/a; Cat No: n/a

TV advert for the anti-litter campaign "Don't Mess with Texas". It was the first advert to be recorded in this series and was recorded in December 1985 during a break from the US leg of the Soul to Soul Tour. It was filmed in one day and first broadcast on New Years Day 1986.

It commences showing SRV playing the first few notes of "The Eyes of Texas" in his own style. He would continue to play his version of the classic University of Texas fight song set to the tune of "I've Been Workin' on the Railroad", until the end, when he looks up from beneath his hat and says "Don't Mess with Texas".

1986 - First We Take Manhattan

First We Take Manhattan - Format: Official Video; Label: n/a; Cat No: n/a

Official promotional video for Jennifer Warnes’ cover of the Leonard Cohen song. SRV makes a cameo appearance in the in the video playing No 1 on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. Leonard Cohen also appears in the video. The video has never been commercially available and was only put on to tape for broadcast purposes.

1986 - Gung Ho

Feature film about the takeover of an American car plant by a Japanese corporation. SRV plays on just over 8 minutes of music during the course of the film. He does not play on the theme tune. The soundtrack also includes “Tuff Enuff” by The Fabulous Thunderbirds. No official soundtrack was ever released.

1987 - Back to the Beach

Feature film about a couple who go to Southern California to visit their daughter and discover that they aren’t too old to party. SRV has a cameo role in the film, lasting around one minute, playing “Pipeline” with Dick Dale, in a night club.

BB King 1987 HBO television special released on VHS firstly and then on Laserdisc (US) in 1991. The DVD followed in 2005 with the titles “Blues Session’ and 'A Night of Blistering Blues', the latter with bonus soundtrack CD. This CD is also available separately. A Japanese version of the Laserdisc (VAL-3051) was released in 1988. The sound on the DVD was in 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound.

1988 - Europa Oil Promo Video - Travellin’ On

Europa Oil - Travellin’ On - Format: Official Video; Label: n/a; Cat No: n/a

Official promotional video for New Zealand oil company, Europa Oil. SRV is in the video on stage with Midge Marsden and Murray Grindlay playing the song. The video was shot on the north island of New Zealand, in and around Mangaweka. Janna Lapidus also features in the video. The full video lasts for 2:48, but there were also 1:29 and 0:56 versions made, with different takes of the audio. None of the videos have been officially released and this was the last advertisement for Europa Oil before it took the BP shield.

Greatest hits compilation of the official videos, the MTV session and TV Commercials. Released in the US, Europe and Japan. The VHS version was released a year later in 1991.

The DVD was not issued until 2007. Original VHS and LD releases only included the SRV&DT promo videos (excluding Little Wing, which had not been released at the time), plus a live version of “I’m Leavin You (Commit a Crime)” from the riverboat SS President in 1987.

The subsequent DVD release in 2007 expanded the set to include also the video for “Little Wing”, plus the MTV Unplugged broadcast, the two Vaughan Brothers promo videos “Tick Tock” and“Good Texan”, along with TV commercials for CSTW & STS, the Vaughan Brothers EPK (electronic press kit) which featured a short excerpt of ‘Pipeline/Hideaway” performed by SRV & JLV on the same twin-necked Robin guitar (and taken from the same show as the “I’m Leaving You” clip.

Two volumes of this were released. SRV appeared on Volume 1 of the VHS format, with the aborted “Life Without You” and then “Pride and Joy”. The DVD release of Volume 1 had a different tracklisting and did not include SRV. The Laserdisc release combines Volume 1 and Volume 2 and does include SRV. This remains the only official release to include the aborted “Life Without You”.

1999 - MTV Unplugged’s Classic Moments

In 1999 the “Classic Moments” DVD was released and again had a different tracklisting. This time SRV was on it, but with just “Pride and Joy”. It was the first time that any of the MTV Unplugged material had been released on DVD.

Compilation of SRV’s 2 performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, in 1982 & 1985. Released in the US, UK, Brazil and Canada. Only issued on DVD. The track listing for the 1982 showis the same as the CD, and complete. The 1985 disc reinstates “Cold Shot” and “Look at Little Sister” but not “Don’t Stop by the Creek, Son”. “Ain’t Gone‘n’ Give up on Love” is again cut down by 2 minutes, as it is on the CD release. “Cold Shot” is also available on Sony’s Legacy Recordings Fall 2004 CD-R Sampler, “Music is our Connection”, and is otherwise unavailable on CD.

Documentary on the history of Antone’s in Austin, Texas, first released in Australia. The film includes excerpts from two SRV performances; a very early unknown solo (probably the earliest SRV film footage available), and some snippets of “Ain’t Gone‘n’ Give up on Love”. It was later released on DVD in the US, in 2006.

The segment was originally filmed for possible use in U2’s “Rattle and Hum” film from that year,but it was not used in the end.

2023 - Brothers in Blues

Brothers in Blues is the story of Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan. The brothers went from a small, post-war house in Oak Cliff, Texas to become blues legends, selling millions of records and playing alongside the likes of David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana and many more.

A segment of the film is devoted to Jimmie and Eric Clapton's first ever on-camera interviews about the night that Stevie died.

Featuring newly revealed photos, home movies and previously untold stories, Brothers in Blues is a rare and intimate look into the tragedies and the glory as told by Jimmie, Eric Clapton, Billy Gibson, Jackson Browne and Nile Rodgers, as well as bandmates and friends from the early days of their careers.
