It's a sad fact that the majority of Stevie Ray Vaughan autographs available for sale today are fakes. Where there is money to be made, people become unscrupulous, not caring who they hurt in the process. For this reason fans should be extremely viligant in their hunt for a genuine article.

If you are buying a signed item, be sure that the seller had access to Stevie and can provide evidence of obtaining the autograph, for example a photo or a witness. Be happy with the item's provenance before you fork out your hard earned cash. Do not buy an autograph simply because it has a COA (certificate of authenticity) with it. These in no way guarantee that the signature is genuine.
